Are the smart contracts we write deployed to the AppChain or Polygon?

I was really wondering if the smart contracts we write are deployed to the AppChain or Polygon. Maybe that it is The AppChain?

Technically it's possible to support Polygon as a root chain, but for now it's not yet implemented. Right now we don't have relayer contracts deployed in the Polygon network.
